Our Vision…
Founded in 2022 by Beth Waters, Wildflower Lactation was created with the vision of making personalized, evidence-based infant feeding support accessible to all families. Since then, we have helped over 1,000 families access compassionate, expert lactation and postpartum care. Today, we are in-network with most insurance plans, including Medicaid, making high-quality support more accessible than ever!
Whether you are breastfeeding, chestfeeding, exclusively pumping, bottle feeding, combination feeding, or weaning, we believe every family deserves individualized support in reaching their unique feeding goals.
At Wildflower Lactation & Postpartum Support, our care is rooted in evidence-based practices while honoring biologically normal infant feeding and responsive parenting approaches supported by current scientific research.

I’m passionate about supporting families through their lactation and postpartum journey. With over 10 years of experience, I’ve worked with families from many different backgrounds and am committed to evidence-based, individualized care that honors each family’s unique needs.
I am an International Board Certified Lactation Consultant (IBCLC), Certified Lactation Counselor (CLC), Certified Postpartum Doula, and Accredited La Leche League Leader. I also offer gentle sleep support, including responsive sleep strategies and co-sleeping guidance.
My background includes community lactation work, private practice, teaching breastfeeding classes, and completing over 1,000 clinical hours supporting families in both California and Oregon. I previously founded a nonprofit to expand access to postpartum and lactation support for underserved families.
In 2022, I founded Wildflower Lactation in Portland with the goal of making compassionate, accessible, and evidence-based care available to more families.
I look forward to supporting yours.

I have been working in birth, supporting mothers, birthing people, and babies for over 11 years. To me this is so much more than a job, it is a calling, and I have a deep passion and respect for birth and parenting in all its forms. I want nothing more than to support you and provide you with the strategies that you need to reach your infant feeding goals, whatever they may be.
I started my career in Infant Feeding in 2013 as a Breastfeeding Counselor in the UK’s NHS hospitals, where I developed a passion for assisting mothers, birthing people, and babies. I provided face to face support and education to new parents in postpartum wards.
In 2014, I trained as a Registered Midwife, delivering babies at the Royal Sussex County Hospital, and supporting breastfeeding/chestfeeding in the early days and weeks postpartum.
In 2019, I became a Tongue Tie Practitioner Midwife, running Infant feeding clinics across two NHS hospitals and diagnosing and treating 400-500 infants annually for tethered oral tissue. This experience exposed me to increasingly complex feeding issues, motivating me to enhance my breastfeeding support skills.
In 2021, I became the Infant Feeding Specialist Midwife, training patients and healthcare staff in breastfeeding support and contributing to my trust's UNICEF Baby Friendly Initiative accreditation. I implemented projects such as skin-to-skin contact during scheduled C-sections to promote breastfeeding, and established a specialist feeding support team to reduce newborn hospital readmissions.
I completed the ‘Breastfeeding London’ Lactation consultant training course, achieving my IBCLC certification in 2022 and began a private practice in England, alongside my NHS work.

After returning to the Pacific Northwest in 2023 with my husband and three children, I am thrilled to join the Wildflower team. When kindred spirits link up with aligned philosophies, and a shared drive to support families, great things can happen! I am so excited to bring my global experience back to my home state of Oregon for face-to-face feeding support, just as I did over 11 years ago.
